Candidate filing for the City Council election in Menlo Park is open

Candidate filing for the Nov. 5 election is now open; it closes at 5:00 pm Friday, Aug. 9.
The November 5 election will have the following seats on the ballot:
- City Council District Three (full term – four years)
- City Council District Five (full term – four years)
Registered voters will vote only for the City Council seat in their district. To review which district you live in, go to: menlopark.gov/election.
Individuals who wish to run for one of the two seats on the November ballot must:
- Be registered to vote in and live in the district in which they are running
- Set up an appointment with the City Clerk by email (jaherren@menlopark.gov) or phone (650)-330-6621 to begin the candidate filing process
- Complete all necessary paperwork with the City Clerk’s office by 5 p.m. Aug. 9
The San Mateo County Elections Division is holding a candidate seminar July 24 at 10 a.m. This seminar will cover important topics including filing deadlines, filing forms, candidate statements, campaign finance reports and voter data.
