Line up set for this year’s Portola Valley Arts Fest coming on September 14

The Portola Valley Arts Fest takes place this year on Saturday, September 14, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at 3300 Alpine Road.

Emails Pamela Dorrell: “This year we have added more performances aimed purely at children to our little, wild stage. The Kids’ Morning includes local author story time in conjunction with the PV Library and the youth musical theater presentation by PV Theater Conservancy.

“Plus a few more games and, of course, art activities which will be about recycling (“found object art”) and making musical instruments from recycled items.

“At  2:00 pm, there will be  some lovely guitar and vocals with Jen & Jim, and at 4:00 pm, a participatory Irish “pub under the redwoods” with Barry O’Connell and other members of the long-time Bay Area Irish band the Gas Men.”

Local authors will be highlighted in readings at 3:00 pm. They include Ellen Barker, Miriam Freedman, Toby Brookes, Debbie Romani and Susanne Pari.

Organized by the Portola Valley Creative Circle, the Arts Fest is free.
