Students in Oak Knoll multiage classroom package meals in Rise Against Hunger project
Oak Knoll School principal Alicia Payton-Miyazki let InMenlo know about a recent event in one of the school’s multiage classrooms.
“One of our 3rd-5th grade multiage classes packed over 7,000 meal kits in their Rise Against Hunger project. This was a student-led initiative. Nirvaan Goel (pictured), one of our 5th graders, had been running and raising money alone when he brought the challenge to his multiage. Together, their jog-a-thon raised over $11,000.
“All students in the mutliage worked together to package up the meal kits, including vitamins and a complete protein. In the coming month, Rise will let the students know which country their meal kits will be delivered to.”
