Spotted: Menlo Park City Council receiving 150th anniversary proclamation

At Tuesday evening’s Menlo Park City Council meeting, Sandy Pachaud, who is the president of the Menlo Park Historical Association, presented a proclamation to honor the 150th anniversary of the city’s first incorporation. Menlo Park was incorporated 150 years ago to raise money to build roads. But after the roads were built, the incorporation was allowed to lapse. The city reincorporated again in 1927 — and this time the incorporation stuck.
