Atherton resident Terri Bullock (pictured) — who has been involved in a number of impactful endeavors over the years — sent this email:

“I’m reaching out to tell you a bit about a kindness movement I started and the documentary that was made on it.

“The backstory began in 2020, when I started the kindness movement. I started it while searching for an antidote to all the bad behavior spreading in our world. T. C. Johnstone, a filmmaker who had become a friend (through my 15 years of directing the Windrider Bay Area Film Festival) wanted to make a film about it.

“For two years, I said no. But, in 2023 I started a foundation to put more structure into the efforts to support spreading kindness and solving problems. With the TDB Family Foundation in place, I agreed to the film being made.

“I had no idea how much work it took to make a film, nor how vulnerable it would make me feel. With fingers crossed and prayers being said, it began its journey the beginning of December, with its premiere screening at the With fingers crossed and prayers being said, it began its journey the beginning of December with its premiere screening at the Sherman Oaks Film Festival. Hopefully, it will inspire others to consider kindness and to recognize that even small acts of kindness make a huge difference.

“My good news is that “The Power of Small” won the Grand Jury Award for Best Featurette in the Documentary category at the film festival!”

T. C., the filmmaker, is hosting three evenings of access to free screenings, with a live Q&A afterwards. The three evenings for the screenings will be Jan. 31 (booked), Feb 1 and Feb 2.”
