Author Carol Park appears at Atherton library on March 8
Local author and poet Carol Park will be at the Atherton library (2 Dinkelspiel Station Lane) on Saturday, March 8, at 2:00 pm.
Women’s History Month is here, so follow one woman’s journey. Her stories contrast her German-American background with that of her Korean-American husband, differing communication and domestic styles, and the long-love they have realized. PowerPoint images and selected poetry illuminate a transformation from judgement and hiding towards acceptance and vulnerability; from whiteness to an intercultural, artistic self.
Carol will also appear at the Portola Valley library (765 Portola Road) on Saturday, March 15 at 11:30 am.
Carol’s Masters in Fine Arts was earned at Seattle Pacific University late in life and followed a masters and career in TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language). Kelsay Books published her poetry collection, Songs Sharp & Tender. Part II of the presentation, for those interested, includes tips and discussion of the writing life.
