New episode of Note the Past looks at vintage rock ‘n’ roll poster art
M-A alum Chris Abramson emails: “Hey everyone, just published another episode of Note the Past — rock ‘n’ roll poster art from the 60s and early 70s.
“Joined by five bonafide collectors (and friends), we traverse the counter-culture music scene through the lens of concert posters, handbills and tickets. Their stories enrich this art and speak to the thrill of possibilities during that magical time.
“In the words of famed impresario Bill Graham, “rock music has a free-form character…so it is with poster artists themselves, because they too, delve into the new possibilities”.
