Gallery House hosts demonstrations by two of its artists on April 3

As part of the Menlo Park Design District’s First Thursday event for April 3 2025, Gallery House (826 Santa Cruz Avenue), will host a demonstration of techniques by two of their featured artists from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. Refreshments and light snacks will be served.
Painter Peter Koltai (pictured) will give a live demonstration of his “Color Cell” technique, from start to the completion of a finished painting. An example of Peter’s paintings will be given by lottery to a lucky attendee.
Fine woods artist Darryl Dieckman will describe the process he uses to select woods for his distinct creations and point out a few of the nuances of fine woodworking that often go unnoticed. He will demonstrate the use of hand planes to prepare a glass-like surface and the application of a hand rubbed shellac finish that infuses life and warmth into the piece.
Note: Peter and Darryl will also take part in a featured artist reception on Friday, April 11, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
