Learn about blackout poetry at Menlo Park Library on April 6

On Sunday, April 6, 2025 from 1:00 to 2:30 pm, kick off National Poetry Month by coming to the Menlo Park Library (800 Alma St.) to learn about blackout poetry — and create some of your own.
Blackout poetry is about creating a piece of art — not by writing words on an empty page, but by eliminating words from a full one.
Poets Dina Klarisse and Ellie Lopez are leading a fun workshop they call “Word Alchemy: Transforming Text into Blackout Poetry.” All supplies will be provided for this special hands-on project.
The workshop is appropriate for kids 8+ to adult.
