Brenda Melton is new Executive Director of Jasper Ridge Farm
Jasper Ridge Farm has announced the appointment of Brenda Melton as its new Executive Director. Brenda, who began her new role on July 7, brings more than 25 years of experience in animal care, organizational leadership, and program innovation to the team.
Beginning as a zookeeper in the zoo and aquarium field, she has cared for a wide range of animals — from exotic wildlife to beloved barnyard companions — and most recently lead a team of 50 animal care professionals at the California Academy of Sciences.
“I’m a people-first leader who thrives on collaboration, creative problem-solving, and building innovative programs that make a meaningful difference,” said Brenda. “I’m especially passionate about the healing power of animals and nature for people. Jasper Ridge Farm is a place where so many of my professional passions and personal values intersect. I’m excited to be joining the Jasper Ridge Farm team.”
Brenda holds a master’s degree in business administration from Keller Graduate School of Management and a bachelor’s degree in Zoology from the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point.
