Sharon Heights Tigers PISL Swim Team wins inaugural Lap-A-Thon to benefit Beyond Barriers Athletic Foundation (BBAF)

“Sharon Heights Athletic Director Jaime Benes and swim team coaches Dema , Kraus and Jenna Olmiala receive the inaugural BBAF Lap-A-Thon plaque from BBAF Board member Leslie Platshon

“The Sharon Heights Tigers PISL swim team won the inaugural BBAF PISL Lap-A-Thon competition, narrowly defeating the Menlo Circus Club Seahorses.

“Young swimmers from ages 4 to 14 swam long distances to raise money from friends and family to support BBAF which subsidizes swim lessons for local lower income children from Menlo Park, East Palo Alto, Palo Alto, and Redwood City.

“This year’s inaugural Lap-A-Thon raised over $10,000 which will be used for teaching local children to swim and be water safe. Over the past 10 years, BBAF has invested approximately $500,000 supporting swim lessons in the local area. More information on BBAF is available on their website “
