Menlo Park City Council to review draft RFP for potential development August 26

The following information is provided by the City of Menlo Park.

Join the August 26th Menlo Park City Council meeting to provide feedback and/or listen as the Council reviews a draft request for proposals (RFP) for the development of at least 345 affordable housing units across any combination of three downtown parking lots, and may include other uses, such as market-rate residential units, ground-floor retail or commercial space and public open space.

This is the next step in advancing the development of the downtown parking lots. This initiative stems from the City’s 2023-2031 Housing Element, which identified the downtown parking lots as potential sites to help meet Menlo Park’s regional housing needs allocation.

City Council will potentially act on the draft RFP, which would be issued to the six development teams selected by City Council through a previous request for qualifications (RFQ) process. The draft RFP requests detailed proposals including development vision, housing program details, parking strategy, financial proposals, implementation plans, community benefits and public engagement strategy.
