Run Club Menlo Park’s season starts September 2 — sign up now

Run Club Menlo Park’s 17th season starts on September 2nd (Cross-Country) and registration is now open.
Explains Head Coach Scott Paterson, a Menlo Park resident since 1996, former NCAA Division I racer, and former Encinal Eagle and Hillview Hawk parent:
“Run Club provides a long-distance running program (2K-5K) for kids 7-14 years old from first-time beginner to advanced. Last fall, 133 boys and girls trained together for the fall cross-country season in which they competed in nine races with 19 runners making it all the way to the Junior Olympics Nationals Cross-Country Championships in Shelbyville IN.
“We train exclusively at Encinal Elementary School but have kids from the entire district in our program. The First Rule of Run Club: Have Fun!
“We weave running games and social-emotional lessons into our practices such as gratitude, burden vs opportunity, positive competition, running as a team together, and self-confidence. For full details about the running program including practice location and times, please see the website.
