Documentary “Antarctica Unearthed” screens at M-A Performing Arts Center on October 15

On Wednesday October 15, 2025 at 7:00 pm, come to the Menlo-Atherton Performing Arts Center (555 Middlefield Rd, Atherton) to get a first look at the documentary Antarctica Unearthed, followed by a Q&A with the director, Ariel Waldman (pictured) hosted by SETI astronomer Seth Shostak. This is an exclusive sneak peek before the series premieres on PBS in April 2026. Free tickets available online.

Dive into Antarctica Unearthed, where National Geographic Explorer Ariel Waldman takes you on a  journey to the most extreme and alien landscape on Earth — the Dry Valleys of Antarctica. The documentary follows Ariel’s two-month expedition into the continent’s most remote areas — so remote that she must attempt to film it, and its microscopic wildlife, entirely by herself.
