Check out these spiffy new Menlo Park library cards — coming soon!

In 2025, the Menlo Park Library called upon community members of all ages to submit original artwork inspired by the theme “My Library Adventure in Menlo Park.” The five designs that will be featured on the next generation of library cards have been announced.

The artists whose artwork was selected are Adele C., Cleo L., Emma F., Jeanne L., and Naomi L. They are featured top to bottom in this post.

A panel of curators — which included members of the Library Foundation, Library Commission, Friends of the Library, City Council, and staff from Menlo Park and the Peninsula Library System — selected designs that they felt represented Menlo Park and the joy of the library.

The new cards are in production and will be available soon! Current library cardholders whose barcode begins with 29044 will be able to exchange their current card for one of the new designs at Menlo Park Library and Belle Haven Library.

Production is sponsored by generous funding from the Menlo Park Library Foundation. All 35 submissions will remain on display at the Menlo Park Library (800 Alma St.) through Jan. 15, 2026.
