Menlo Upper School Drama presents “Lost Girl” Feb. 5-7

Menlo Upper School Drama’s winter production is Lost Girl. Performances will be at the Spieker Performing Arts Center (50 Valparaiso Avenue) on February 5, 6, and 7 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students, and are available for purchase online.
Lost Girl picks up where Peter Pan leaves off, following Wendy Darling as she wrestles with lingering memories of Neverland.
“This play lives in that tender space between who we were and who we’re becoming,” says director Mark Schneider. “Lost Girl has given our students a chance to explore memory, identity, and the complicated process of growing up — and they’ve met the material with remarkable thoughtfulness and heart.”
“The show emphasizes the little moments of life and the close relationships between characters, and exploring those themes has really helped me grow as an actor,” says cast member Vivian Sun (27’), playing the role of Wendy. “I find the story really compelling and the rehearsal process has been incredibly rewarding.”
“What I love about Lost Girl is its relationship with time,” says Jackson Belknap (‘29), playing the role of Nibs. “It’s not necessarily linear or chronological, and it doesn’t really matter where a scene is in the timeline, because they all connect through Wendy.”
