Atherton Charter City Community Workshop set for February 26

Atherton is exploring whether becoming a Charter City would provide greater local control over municipal affairs such as governance, elections, contracting, land use, and public finance, within the limits of the California Constitution.

A charter functions as a local constitution. It establishes the framework for governance and confirms the Town’s authority over municipal affairs while preserving all powers available under general law.

A workshop on the topic will be held from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at 80 Fair Oaks Lane, Atherton.
