Dave Newhouse, longtime Bay Area sports columnist — and M-A grad — dies at 87

We were lucky enough to encounter Dave Newhouse over the years at various M-A related events.

His sports writing career is legendary as his obituary in the San Francisco Chronicle makes clear.

On the occasion of the 55th reunion of the class of 1956, of which he was a member, he provided some thoughts about the occasion.

And we were there for the class’s 60th reunion as well, where the accompanying photo was taken.
