Spotted: Bot the robotic dog in downtown Menlo Park
There are always lots of folks walking their dogs in downtown Menlo Park, but this was the first time we’ve seen a robotic dog — named Bot we were told.
Bot is part of the Fozzie’s Kitchen crew. Here’s more from Kitchen owner Carla:
“We started during
the pandemic
when my husband Rob (the chef) and I began cooking *balanced meals for our own dog, Fozzie, with guidance from a board-certified veterinary nutritionist. What started as one bowl for him slowly grew into a small fresh food business for dogs, and next week we’re actually celebrating five years.
“Today we prepare fresh dog meals and treats, and our meals are AAFCO-approved and made under our California department of Public Health pet food processing permit.
“All of our food has been prepared in our commercial kitchen in Menlo Park
at The Kitchen Sink Co-op on Gilbert Avenu* for the past five years, which we’re incredibly grateful for. We’ve also been so lucky to feed so many dogs from the Menlo Park community, and we’re incredibly thankful for the support local dog
owners have shown our small business over the years.
“The robot dog you saw is our newest addition, “Bot.” since dogs aren’t allowed
at the market, we thought it would be fun to bring a little Silicon Valley spirit
to the booth. Bot pops by to say hello and has definitely been turning a few
heads.
“We’re at the Menlo Park Farmers Market on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each
month.”
