Sacred Heart Prep hosts annual cardboard canoe races

Founded in 2005 by now-retired Sacred Heart Prep physics teacher Dr. Guy Letteer, the SHP cardboard canoe races are a quirky tradition that takes place every spring at the Dunlevie Aquatics Center, where theoretical physics meets design concepts (and duct-taping skills) — blending buoyancy, creativity, and a healthy dose of luck.
For many, the race marks the near-close of classes and the launch of summer, capturing the spirit of SHP.
Winners this year were Tinsley and Audrey (pictured top), both Juniors.
