Artist Jim Caldwell talks about Monet and Venice on May 26

Emails Woodside resident — and artist — Jim Caldwell: “The current show at the de Young Museum in San Francisco is called Monet and Venice, but the show is much more than just about Monet, and much more than just about Venice. He went to Venice only once, when he was 68, and he brought back 36 partially finished canvases to Giverny. Many of them have been assembled for this beautiful show, which includes other paintings of Venice and other paintings of Giverny.
