Provide feedback on Menlo Park’s disaster preparedness plans by June 15
The City of Menlo Park invites community members to review and provide feedback on the City of Menlo Park Annex within the draft San Mateo County Local Hazard Mitigation Plan (LHMP) before Monday, June 15.
The LHMP is a regional planning document that identifies natural hazards that could impact our communities — including earthquakes, flooding, wildfire, severe weather, sea level rise and extreme heat — and outlines strategies to reduce risk and improve resilience before disasters occur. The plan also helps ensure the City and County remain eligible for federal hazard mitigation grant funding.
As part of the countywide plan, the City of Menlo Park has developed a local annex that highlights Menlo Park-specific hazards, vulnerabilities, capabilities and mitigation priorities.
Community input helps ensure the plan reflects local concerns, priorities and lived experiences.
Residents, businesses, community organizations and stakeholders are encouraged to review the draft documents and submit comments online.
