Parkline announces updated development plans

Parkline recently submitted plan updates to the City of Menlo Park that build on the version approved last fall. The plan continues to honor the core commitments the community helped define: adding needed new housing, affordable housing options, inviting green spaces, safe bike and pedestrian trails, and features and amenities important to neighbors.

At the same time, evolving conditions and ongoing community input have created opportunities to further strengthen Parkline’s contributions. Plan refinements in 2026 add 282 homes to help meet the city’s housing goals, including townhomes mirroring current adjacent neighbors and new market rate and affordable for-sale homes, as well as standalone retail explorations to deliver neighbor-requested amenities.

Key updates include:

• 282 additional for-sale homes, including 42 new affordable, for-sale units, for a total of 1,082 housing units, 293 of which will be affordable
• A reduction of more than 23 acres of commercial space
• Scaled open space appropriately dispersed across the property, including a 2.65 acre dedicated recreation field
• Commercial buildings concentrated along Ravenswood, including a new retail corridor
• Conversion of remaining outdated lab space to office use

These updates were made possible by re-purposing portions of the SRI site dedicated to labs that were previously planned to be retained. Parkline is working with the city as it processes the updates, in accordance with state and local housing requirements.
