Kids — and snakes! — take center stage at National Night Out in Menlo Park

National Night Out was held yesterday in various neighborhoods around Menlo Park, starting in the late afternoon and extending into the evening.

Reports Matt Burr from Neighborhood Pizza Guy & Cafe Zoe:
“We had a magician and balloon artist, visits from the City Manager as well as Menlo Park Police and Fire, live music, pop up from local brewer Bleu Mountain Kombucha, games, and lots of pizza and ice cream.
“It was a great opportunity for neighbors to gather and get to know one another, especially those with young kids. What a great way to round out the summer and highlight our awesomely diverse neighborhood.”

And Julie Hartstein checked in from Flood Triangle:
“At its peak, we had over 120 neighbors socializing, eating, playing games — and even handling pet snakes! This is the second year of this event planned by neighbor Dorene Martinez, who added Ta Con Madre serving up delicious Mexican fare and Rollin’ Cream serving up the sweets.”
