Study session on downtown Menlo Park parking lot development set for September 29

At its Sept. 29 special meeting, the Menlo Park City Council will hold a study session in City Council Chambers (751 Laurel St.) on the development of the downtown parking lots. The hybrid meeting will begin at 5:30 pm with a closed session and the public meeting to follow.

The City Council will receive a presentation and update on the financial review of proposals submitted by Alliant Communities, Presidio Bay Ventures, and Related Companies/Alta Housing. The financial review found funding gaps in the development proposals, with varied requests for City assistance including direct subsidies, loans, and fee waivers or deferrals, among other financing tools.

The City Council will provide feedback and direction on next steps, including factors as part of a comprehensive evaluation of the proposals to inform the future selection of a preferred development team.
