Moms and teen daughters, members of National Charity League Mid-Peninsula

Paint and paint brushes were the tools of the day for the moms and teen daughters – all members of the National Charity League, Inc. Mid-Peninsula –  taking part in National Rebuilding Day by painting the exterior of Belle Haven School in Menlo Park. The organization contributed both a morning and afternoon shift (some of whom are shown in our photo snapped during a lunch break).

The National Charity League, Inc. is a mother-daughter organization dedicated to serving the communities in which chapters are formed and to fostering the mother-daughter relationship. The Mid-Peninsula Chapter was founded in 2008. The daughters along with their mothers participate in a six-year educational program of philanthropic work, leadership training, educational activities and cultural events.

The work today at Belle Haven was under the auspices of  Rebuilding Together Peninsula (originally called Christmas in April). The first National Rebuilding Day locally was held in April 1990 when 500 volunteers renovated 18 homes and community facilities.
