Take a virtual tour of the new M-A Performing Arts Center

by Linda Hubbard on October 10, 2009

Not able to get tickets to tonight’s sold out  inaugural event of the M-A Performing Arts Center? You can take a virtual tour of the new facility, which is located on the campus of Menlo Atherton High School.

The architects designed the eco-friendly building with the existing oak grove in mind,  positioning the lobby on axis with the grove and conceiving the lobby structure and glass as a tree-like environment. Fund raising efforts for the center continue, with parents, alumni, art patrons and community members being asked, according to the new MAPAC website, to “‘Take a Seat’ to honor a graduate, a loved one, a teacher, a performer or even yourself! Seat sale donations directly support the arts at M-A as well as ongoing programs at the Center.”

Famous M-A graduates who became performers include Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac and Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead.
