Forecast 2010 – A Good Year for VC’s

by Scott Loftesness on January 2, 2010

A number of pundits are predicting that 2010 will be a good year for venture capital investors – many of whom are clustered in offices along Menlo Park’s Sand Hill Road with perhaps the epicenter of the cluster being at the late Tom Ford’s 3000 Sand Hill Road campus.

Some pundits are saying that “the 2010 IPO and M&A markets are shaping up to be the strongest in years and early- and mid-stage venture capital firms with cash have good reason to be optimistic.”

A number of companies appear to be queued up for initial public offerings – in this post, Erick Shonfeld writes for TechCrunch and lists his top 10 candidates for 2010 IPO’s.

The critical mass of venture capital firms on Menlo Park’s Sand Hill Road continues to grow. Greylock Partners, a 44 year old venture firm, has announced it is moving its headquarters from Boston to Menlo Park in 2010 – into a new office building now being finished on Sand Hill Road.
