With the rain, the creek rises

During a mid-afternoon break in the serial rain storms currently passing through Menlo Park, the sun came out inviting residents outdoors. Not only are lawns now soaked, street gutters filled, and tree branches scattered haphazardly around, but the flow in the San Francisquito Creek is rapidly increasing as shown in this photo taken from the San Mateo Drive bike bridge looking downstream (east). By the end of the week, after the expected rain storms have done their magic, the water level in the Creek will most likely be significantly higher.
(Editor’s note: a careful observer will find the author’s and bridge’s shadow!)
