Payment network trouble in downtown Menlo

One way for Menlo Park residents to curb their spending habits, is to shut down the electronic payment network. That was the case this afternoon in downtown, and it closed Wells Fargo completely (apparently after the bank placed signs on its ATM machines). Other shops were open but customers were restricted to paying cash or using a credit card – ATM or debit cards weren’t an option. One store owner said it was an “ATT problem.”
