The two public school districts – Los Lomitas and Menlo Park – and Menlo Atherton High School are combining forces this year to present high quality speakers and offer programs meaningful to parents of children and youth grades k-12. The new group, called CAMPUS – the Consortium of Atherton and Menlo Park United Schools – will hold its events at the M-A Performing Arts Center.

The inaugural speaker is Rachel Simmons, author and co-founder of the Girls Leadership Institute whose sold out appearance is scheduled for September 14. That will be followed  on Oct. 4. with a free event featuring Dr. Ken Ginsburg, a nationally known pediatrician and leading authority on developing resilience in children and adolescents by creating strategies to build upon their inherent strengths. Seating will be first come, first serve; the program begins at 7:00 pm at MAPAC.

Since the Ravenswood School district also has 4 schools within the city limits of Menlo Park (Willow Oaks, Belle Haven, Flood & the Stanford Charter High School), why isn’t this under resourced district part of this this consortium?
