Evening with the Bard at British Bankers Club

Menlo will get another visit from the Bard when the Festival Theatre Ensemble stages a fundraiser at the British Bankers Club next Sunday, Oct. 3. The company performed The Taming of the Shrew and Treasure Island (pictured) last summer at Mid-Peninsula High School and has roots to the Menlo Players Guild.

Producer Jennifer Seldon promises “appetizers and sweets, surprising entertainment, silent auction, and some word (and sword) play…from the creative minds behind the Mid-Peninsula and Los Gatos Shakespeare Festivals.”

“We chose the BBC as a venue for this event specifically for its location in the heart of downtown Menlo,” she says. “Our audiences come from all over the greater Bay Area, and we’re hoping this event will provide new exposure and connections for the local community as well as our audiences.”

Tickets for the event, which runs from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, are $40 ($20 tax deductible); they can be purchased online or by calling (800) 838-3006.
