The “jewel” of Santa Cruz Avenue is for sale

We called in the “jewel of Santa Cruz Avenue.” Realtors Pam Hammer and Katie Hammer Riggs describe it as “romantic Italian villa.” Whatever the name, the house at 1445 Santa Cruz near Hobart St. is one of the most distinct in Menlo Park. And now it’s on the market.
Listed at $1,295,000, it’s a small house on a good-sized lot, which may not bode well for its longevity. The Hammers’ brochure says “this storybook Italian villa style home was built in the mid-1940s using typical mason architecture and craftsmanship by two Italian brothers.
“All of the custom wood doors throughout the home are from the original Flood estate. The fireplace is hand carved and, together with its marble platform, also originated from the Flood estate.”
The 1,200 square foot, two bedroom, one bath home will be open for viewing this Saturday and Sunday.
