Music@Menlo presents 9th chamber music festival season from July 22 to August 13

The chamber music festival and institute, Music@Menlo, kicks off its ninth season this afternoon with a free Prelude Performance in Stent Family Hall on the Menlo School campus at 5:30 pm.
This year’s festival is entitled Through Brahms. It explores the richness and historical dimensions of the music of Johannes Brahms and offers the great German composer’s major chamber works juxtaposed with centuries of outstanding music by Brahms’s forebears and artistic heirs.
Led by founders and Artistic Directors David Finckel and Wu Han (pictured) , the chamber music festival and institute brings to the mid-Peninsula a lineup of many of the world’s most accomplished musicians, scholars, and musicologists, as well as a roster of outstanding young artists.
All festival events, including symposia, master classes, and other activities, are held at venues in Atherton, Menlo Park and Palo Alto. A complete list of this year’s offering is available online. Music@Menlo runs through August 13.
