Spotted: Latest salvo in the persimmon war

The great persimmon war continues in Menlo Park. There’s a new sale taking place on Oak Ave. with the price down to four for $1. The twist on this sale — there’s a suggestion of what to do with the orange fruit. Make persimmon pudding. Says homeowner Christina Holmes: “I made persimmon pudding for the first time over Thanksgiving. It was awesome, used ripe persimmons. I’m a bad chef, but this was so easy.Added currents, raisins and nuts to one of the puddings and poured brandy over it and set fire to it! Yum.”
