At last – rain returns, along with gusty winds

The rain first promised for Thurday arrived in earnest late yesterday afternoon and continued throughout the night.

“There was 1.7″ in my gauge this morning,” reports InMenlo weather watcher Bill Russ.  “My season-to- date total is now 3.8″. This compares to 9.6″ same point last year.”

A quick look at the streets, around yards, and on favorite walkways like the path near San Francisquito Creek (pictured) gives evidence of the gusty wind that accompanied the overnight downpour.
