How to get discounts to Sunset Celebration Weekend – and where to park

by Linda Hubbard on May 30, 2012

By late Wednesday afternoon, preparations for the upcoming Sunset Celebration Weekend were in full swing as workers were busy putting up tents on either side of Willow Road in Menlo Park. It’s the once-a-year opportunity when one of Menlo’s most famous company’s opens its doors to the wider community. Over two days — June 2-3 — the pages of the magazine come alive with up close and personal encounters with some of the West’s top experts in food, wine, home, garden, and travel.

General admission is $16, children twelve and under are free. Locals can get $1 off the admission fee by parking at Facebook (at the end of Willow Road) and taking the shuttle or by cycling to the event (valet is provided at the corner of Willow and Middlefield). People age 60 and over pay $14 with no additional discounts allowed. Additional note to locals: Street parking near the event is largely unavailable due to posted “no parking” temporary signs; this is the time to ask your friends in Linfield Oaks neighborhood for use of their driveways.

You can get more information about the weekend, and buy tickets in advance, online.
