Free class on gardening with native plants on Aug. 18

A free class on water-efficient landscaping titled “California Native Plants as an Alternative to Lawns” will be offered on Saturday, August 18 from 9:00 am to noon at the Arillaga Family Recreation Center in Menlo Park. At this workshop, attendees will learn how to create a California native garden, save on their water bill, and learn more about the Lawn Be Gone program. The Lawn Be Gone program rebates residential and commercial customers $500-$3,000 for converting their lawns into a water-efficient landscape.
