Spotted: Dogs frolicking again at Nealon Park

by Linda Hubbard on April 23, 2013

The off leash dog park at Nealon Park reopened yesterday after being closed for annual maintenance. As has been previously noted on InMenlo, it’s hard to figure out who missed going to the park most, the dogs or their owners. The off-leash hours at Nealon are Monday through Friday from 8:00 to 10:00 am.

The Menlo Park Police Department issued a reminder last week that dogs must be leashed with the City of Menlo Park: “Dogs are permitted to roam free on private property; however, when a dog is off private property, it must be leashed at all times except in designated areas. Free-roaming dogs might be considered a hazard to pedestrians and are in danger of being struck by cars…Failure to comply with this ordinance shall constitute a violation of the municipal code. Menlo Park officers will be enforcing this ordinance.”

The other off leash dog park is Willow Oaks Park (Willow Rd at Coleman Ave.) which is open seven days  a week from 7:00 to 9:00 am and 4:00 pm to dusk.
