Menlo Park resident’s photograph honored in Los Angeles Times photo contest

Menlo Park resident Lyndon W. Wong was recognized recently in a Los Angeles Times travel photography contest for an image of his young daughter running along an Oregon beach. Of over 1,500 photographs submitted, his was one of 13 selected for publication in a special Sunday print edition of the paper.
Explaining the basis for selecting Lyndon’s image, LA Times editors wrote, “Light can turn an ordinary moment into a magical one. This photo of 3 1/2-year-old-Claire has an almost black-and-white quality to it, but the toy parachute, given to her by a playmate, provides a pop of color in this photo shot at the shore in northwestern Oregon.”
