M-Ake Dreams Come True is theme of M-A Fashion Show taking place on March 22
This year’s Menlo-Atherton High School Fashion Show will be held Saturday, March 22, in the M-A Performing Arts Center. There will be three performances at 1:00 pm, 4:00 pm and 7:30 pm, with a catered luncheon option offered at 11:45 am before the 1:00 pm show that includes reserved seating.
This annual PTA fundraiser — a 35-year tradition — is the PTA’s largest fundraiser. It showcases graduating seniors (class of 2014) modeling the latest fashions from local stores and dancing in a professionally choreographed, high energy fashion show.
This year, 230 models will be showcased in 20 modeling segments wearing clothes from 24 stores. Once again, author, actor and model, Charleston Pierce (pictured right), will be working with the Seniors to make them runway ready through a series of Model 101 classes (top photo). Charleston is a native San Franciscan and has been a part of the San Francisco entertainment industry for over 25 years. He notes that his goal is to inspire people of all ages with wisdom, talent, and compassion.
Dance choreography is by Nona Ybarra of Captivating Dance with 120 dancers in five segments. Enthusiastic support and additional instruction is provided by the M-A Dance Team.
This is a really fun show for middle school students who will one day be attending M-A. Student pricing is for all students, not just M-A students.
Tickets are available for the 1:00 pm and 4pm shows for $35, $25 and $10 for reserved, general or student/staff seating respectively. The luncheon/show combination is $85. The 7:30 pm show tickets are $65, $40 and $20 for reserved, general and student/staff seating. Tickets are available online. While tickets can also be purchased at the door, the shows often sell out in advance.
