Alpine Strikers kids with heart_verticalRachel Perkocho emailed us: “Menlo Park kids have empathy and heart. The Alpine Strikers 02 Girls Club soccer team was going to a costume tournament and chose to do ALS awareness for their costumes instead of the typical Halloween costumes. Their socks read DONATE on one side and ALS on the other. The back of their shirt had the ALS ribbon and the front read Alpine Strikers for ALS Awareness.

“They were very excited to do something to bring ALS awareness to the tournament as the Coach Chris Bobb and a player on the team, Fiona Perkocha, both have relatives currently battling ALS.

“Chris Bobb told the girls he would dump an ice bucket for each goal they scored at the Annual Walnut Creek Octoberfest Tournament the last weekend in October. They scored 6 goals — brrrrrr!
