City of Menlo Park hosts community celebration to mark State of the City on November 13 featuring free food and entertainment

The City of Menlo Park is literally rolling out a “green carpet” and inviting residents to a picnic-style event to mark the State of the City. The event will take place on Thursday, Nov. 13, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm at the Chestnut St. Paseo in Downtown Menlo Park. Reusable artificial turf will be placed on the Paseo for this and future community event events, transforming the street into a comfortable community gathering spot.

Mayor Ray Mueller (pictured) will address the community regarding the State of the City and be joined on stage by the Menlo Academy of Dance and the Menlo-Atherton High School orchestra. This free event includes refreshments for all ages. Thanks to the generosity of Bob Larson, owner of Roundtable Pizza on El Camino Real, refreshments will include pizza.

Mayor Mueller will recap the many first and innovations from 2014, including the Off the Grid food truck market, the Downtown Enhanced Seating Pilot program, Menlo movie series, the City’s new website, Small Business Roundtable meetings, and the new Neighborhood Service Centers.

He will also celebrate two community leaders who contribute so much to Menlo Park, this year recognizing Congresswoman Anna Eshoo and Fire Chief Harold Schapelhouman.

The City of Menlo Park welcomes all members of the community to come and celebrate 2014; you can RSVP online.
