Showers, downpours and sunshine alternate in Menlo Park

Update: Bill discovered another .1″ in his gauges after sending this initial report, bringing his year-to-date to 1.45″.

The rain that started Wednesday with off and on again drizzles developed into more serious showers today. The forecast calls for that pattern to continue with heavier rain on Saturday. InMenlo weather watcher Bill Russ reports: “There was .2″ from yesterday and today as of 4:00 pm. My season-to-date total is now 1.35″. More is likely to come and I will give you a comparison.”

The accompanying photo was taken a bit after dawn yesterday at Bedwell Bayfront Park in Menlo Park. A light shower had just passed, and the sun poked through to produce a long Fall shadow.
