Spotted: M-A class of 1959 gals having breakfast at Cafe Borrone

A group of four women appeared to be enjoying themselves particularly well last week while eating breakfast at Cafe Borrone. We found out they were spending a few days with each other as they do almost annually. The kicker: They’ve been friends for decades, all graduating from Menlo-Atherton High School in 1959.

“There were 493 in our class,” explained Pat Davis Parsons (second from left), who the others described as “the female heart and soul of the class.”

“And we were always very social,” she continued. “Reunions helped us stay in touch, and also the fact that two-thirds of the class had gone all through grade school together, too.”

Pictured in addition to Pat, who lives in El Dorado Hills, from left to right are: Karin Schmidt (lives in Orinda), Diane Van Epern (lives in Atherton) and Kathleen Nugent (lives in San Jose.)
