The Menlo Park Fire District is 100 years old, and the Menlo Park Library is celebrating with a visit from some city firefighters, who will bring their fire truck, read stories, and talk about fire safety. The event will take place twice on Thursday, October 15 at 12:30 pm at the Belle Haven Branch Library (413 Ivy Drive) and at 4:00 pm at the Main Library (800 Alma Street).

Earlier this month, 1,000 attendees enjoyed pancakes and fire safety demonstrations at the 15th annual Pancake Breakfast at the Menlo Park Fire District Headquarters, cosponsored by the Junior League of Palo Alto•Mid Peninsula. The event raised $14,000 to benefit the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation, to provide needed programs for burn survivors in California.
