“The girls in Girl Scout Cadette Troop 61720 of Menlo Park helped the homeless guests staying at the emergency shelter, Hotel de Zink, this weekend by packing and delivering delicious and nutritious bagged lunches,” emails Grace Zales, Troop leader. “The girls used funds they earned selling Girl Scout cookies last spring to buy the groceries. They wrote and decorated cards to reach out and add a personal touch.

“Hotel de Zink is a collaboration between InnVision Shelter Network and 12 local churches (including Menlo Church as the host shelter this month) and volunteers.

“The girls in Troop 61720 are 6th graders from Hillview Middle School and Castilleja School. They have been learning and serving together since they started their Girl Scout troop as first graders at Laurel School six years ago.”
