St. Raymond School’s 4th graders bring smiles to kids at St. Anthony Padua Dining Room

St Anthony books_verticalThis morning Menlo Park resident Barrett Moore picked up 410 books from Mrs. Matteo’s 4th grade class at St. Raymond School. With her car overflowing with the wrapped boxes of books, she headed to St. Anthony Padua Dining Room on Middlefield Road in Menlo Park. There she distributed the books to happy children.

Emails Barrett: “I’m the Friday coordinator at St. Anthony’s. A few years ago I started giving the preschool-aged kids books to distract them long enough for their moms to have a chance to eat and take a much needed deep breath.

“But now all the kids get books thanks to so many kind people who give us new and used books. My favorite thing to hear from a kid is ‘I already read that one.’

“Mrs Matteo’s class at St. Raymond outdid themselves this year with their service-leading project with 410 books!”
