Gathering unwrapped toys for Ravenswood School District Holiday Party

by Contributed Content on November 26, 2016

To make the holidays a bit brighter, Ravenswood School District is hosting a Holiday Party for  400+ homeless children (grades K-3) and their families on December 17 and would appreciate your donation of an unwrapped toy for a boy or girl, 5 to 8 years old.

The need has nearly doubled since last year. Roughly 1/3 of Ravenswood’s students are classified as homeless. These children do not have stable living situations. At best, they have temporary housing solutions through homeless shelters, “doubled-up” multi-family homes, and short-term hotels. With housing and other necessities as a priority, the holiday season ends up being neglected.

Donations are accepted at The Yogurt Stop (401 El Camino Real, Menlo Park, CA 94025), If it is easier to donate funds instead, Ravenswood and SGC Financial have set up go fund me site.
