The Town of Atherton is holding a memorial for Menlo Park resident Kathy Hughes Anderson on Sunday, January 13, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at the Pavilion in Holbrook-Palmer Park.

“Kathy, who served as the Town Arborist for 22 years and retired in 2011, was beloved by many within our community for her generous and cheerful nature and ready availability to help provide special attention and care for all their trees,” read an email from Town Clerk Theresa DellaSanta.

“We invite you to join us in honoring her life, which ended tragically in mid-December, leaving many stunned, saddened and in need of healing. There will be an opportunity for those who knew her to share their memories of Kathy.

“In lieu of gifts, we welcome you to plant a tree in honor of Kathy, which you can do through a special memorial fund set up in Kathy’s name with the National Forest Foundation.

“We hope you will take this opportunity to join together in honoring Kathy’s life and sharing memories of her and the special contribution she made to our community.”
